Hi! I'm Kelli, a small town girl from Coal City, WV who happens to be living her dream every day.
I spend my days teaching homeschool to the two youngest girls and chasing baby Cole. A couple years ago, I felt like I was missing my kids because this beautiful job required me to be gone every Saturday. Between that and our lack of love for the common core system, we decide to homeschool. It works well for us but is certainly not for everyone. Our oldest, Katie, rides to Woodrow each day with Tim and thinks homeschool is a rare form of cruel and unusual punishment. It's worth noting, before taking on photography full-time, I was a high school English teacher at Woodrow Wilson High School and youth pastor at First Baptist Church in Beckley, WV.
We spend almost every weekend shooting weddings along the East Coast (and that one time in the Caribbean). Tim, my husband, is my second shooter, best friend, and love of my life. He works full-time through the week as a high school math teacher and gives up his weekend to help me and further my dreams. He's actually a great photographer too! He stands in the back of the ceremony and captures things I could never get working alone. Tim is typically the brides best friend. He gets water, carries bouquets, and even fluffs the gown!
What my friends know about me: I adore all sports (GO STEELERS). I am sure I'm an embarrassment to my kids when I yell at ballgames and cheer during volleyball games like it's the olympics. I'm beyond sarcastic - I get that from my dad. I'm competitive - to a fault. I LOVE to travel and will happily photograph a FREE wedding if you'll take me to Hawaii or Paris. (Just Sayin')
I realize that above my photography abilities the real reason people choose Kelli Carrico Photography is my love for people. I believe God blessed my life with this job and ability and I pray that I use it to serve others with great joy.
Although weddings are my specialty, throughout the year, I accept very limited family, newborn, and senior sessions. The older I get, the more limited these become.
