BEFORE THE WEDDING

What brides need to have ready for the BEFORE WEDDING PHOTOS

Whether you are a wedding photographer or a bride to be, it is important to start your day off right. Having all the essentials in an easy to find spot for the photographer is the best way to shoot detail shots before any other shots are taken.

Photographers, tell your brides to have out all of these things to make your life and her gallery better! After 10 years of shooting weddings, I have realized the importance of shooting details before taking one picture of people. If you wait, they will get missed. Also, if you are a photographer or bride wanting your wedding published, the only way to do so is with solid detail shots. Having the right things together and ready is best for everyone!

1.  Your invitation

You photographer will want to grab a styled picture of your invitation. Have it out and ready when he/she arrives to make this process easy.

2.  Your dress

Ok, every bride knows this one. Have your dress out of the bag, hanging on a wooden or custom hanger, ready for your photographer. Be ready for he or she to move the dress. Remember to hire a photographer that you trust to do that.

3. Your jewelry and shoes

Ok, here you need to think about everything. Get it all out. Bracelet, earrings, engagement ring, necklace, shoes and any other accessory. Get it all together and near to your invitation as many photographers like to shoot it all together.

4.  The bride. You, the bride, should be somewhat ready. Some brides like to have the photographer there for every detail but I actually prefer to arrive when at least some of the make-up is on and ready. Why? Because when girls don't have their make up done at all, or hair done at all, they are typically not ready for my camera. Having some done, will make things run smoother. That way when it's time to read the letter, smile in the robe, or put the earrings on, you are looking good.

5. The bouquet

Ok, so this one gets missed a lot. The bride needs to let the florist know what time the photographer will arrive. The bouquet needs to be dropped off at or before that time. A lot of times, the florist isn't there yet and the bouquet is missed in the before shots. You don't want that! The bouquet is a big part of the pretty!
